At Aapke Sitare (“we”, “us”, “our”), we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, how long we keep it, and your rights regarding that data. It applies to our website (aapkesitare.com) and our mobile applications, including the Aapke Sitare app for iOS and Android (together, the “Services”).
1. Information We Collect and How We Collect It
a) Information you provide directly to us:
• Account details: Name, email address, phone number, and profile photo, collected when you register or update your profile. Your phone number is verified via OTP.
• Birth and astrological details: Date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, and gender, which you enter to generate kundali reports, horoscopes, kundali matching, panchang insights, and personalized astrological content. Because this information relates to religious and philosophical beliefs, we treat it as sensitive personal data and process it only with your explicit consent and solely to provide the astrology services you request.
• Delivery details: Shipping address and contact number, entered when you order physical products (e.g. yantras, rudraksha) or book pujas.
• Consultation data: Chat messages you exchange with astrologers within the app, and records of in-app calls (such as call time and duration). [If applicable: Calls may be recorded for quality and dispute-resolution purposes; you will be informed before any recording begins.]
• Communications: Messages, support queries, or feedback you send to us.
b) Information collected automatically when you use the Services:
• Purchase and transaction data: Order history, puja bookings, wallet recharge and balance history, and transaction reference numbers. We do not collect or store your card, UPI, or banking credentials; payments are processed directly by our payment gateway partners.
• Device & usage data: IP address, device type and model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, app version, screens visited, features used, session duration, and crash and performance diagnostics. This is collected via cookies (on the website) and analytics and crash-reporting SDKs (in the app).
c) Information collected with your device permission:
• Notifications: With your permission, we send push notifications for bookings, consultations, and (only if you opt in) offers. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.
• Microphone: Accessed only during voice calls with astrologers that you initiate, and only while the call is active.
• Photos/Camera: Accessed only if you choose to upload a profile photo.
We collect only the data we need to operate the Services, and paid features never require you to grant access to unnecessary data.
2. Consent
We collect and process your personal data, including usage data, only with your consent — given when you create an account, enter your details, grant a device permission, or continue using the Services after being shown this policy. Where we process sensitive birth/astrological details, we do so based on your explicit consent, which you provide by entering those details for the service you request.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected for the following purposes:
• To create and manage your account
• To generate kundali, horoscope, panchang, kundali matching, and other personalized astrological content
• To connect you with astrologers for chat and call consultations
• To process and fulfil your orders, puja bookings, and wallet transactions
• To send order confirmations, invoices, booking updates, and delivery updates
• To send service notifications and, only if you opt in, promotional offers and push notifications
• To respond to your queries and provide customer support
• To monitor, improve, and secure our website and app, including analytics and crash reporting
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
We do not use your data for any purpose not described in this policy.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for their own advertising purposes, and we do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
We share data only with the following categories of recipients, and we confirm that any third party with whom we share user data is required to provide the same or equal level of protection of your data as stated in this Privacy Policy:
• Astrologers on our platform – your name, birth details, and consultation queries, only to the extent needed to provide the consultation or service you request. Astrologers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Logistics/courier partners – name, address, and contact number, for order delivery purposes only
• Payment gateways (e.g. PhonePe, Razorpay) – to process transactions securely
• Service providers – cloud hosting, communication (chat/voice), analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Firebase), and crash-reporting providers who process data on our behalf under data-protection agreements
• Law enforcement or regulators – only where required by applicable law
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies, and our app uses similar technologies (such as SDK identifiers), to improve your experience and analyse usage. You can disable cookies through your browser settings and manage app permissions through your device settings; however, some features may not function correctly without them.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption and secure servers to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no online transmission is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Specifically:
• Account and profile data (including birth details): retained while your account is active, and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of account deletion.
• Transaction and order records: retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting laws, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
• Chat and consultation records: retained while your account is active to support service quality and dispute resolution, and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of account deletion.
• Analytics and diagnostics data: retained in aggregated or anonymised form.
After the applicable retention period, your data is securely deleted or anonymised.
8. Your Rights: Access, Correction, Consent Withdrawal, and Deletion
You have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data (you can edit your profile and birth details in the app at any time)
• Withdraw consent to our processing of your data at any time. You can do this by: turning off individual device permissions (notifications, microphone, photos) in your device settings; opting out of marketing communications via the unsubscribe/opt-out option; or deleting your account, which withdraws consent for all further processing. Withdrawing consent for birth/astrological details may limit the services we can provide.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations)
Account deletion (in-app): You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time directly within the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You may also request deletion by emailing support@aapkesitare.com. Upon deletion, your account, birth details, consultation history, and other personal data will be deleted or anonymised within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to retain (such as tax records of transactions), which will be kept only for the legally mandated period and then deleted.

9. Third-Party Links
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review their policies before sharing any personal data.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date, and material changes will be notified within the app. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
